Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — During the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Busan, the Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan and Chairperson of the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, Gayane Umerova, met with the Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Lazare Eloundou Assomo.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of joint projects aimed at preserving and promoting Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.
Special attention was given to the restoration of the Poi-Kalon architectural complex, as well as the creation of an open-air archaeological museum in the Shahristan area of Bukhara.
In addition, the meeting participants reviewed prospects for preparing the Zaamin Mountains nomination for subsequent inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The parties confirmed their interest in further developing cooperation and implementing joint initiatives in the field of cultural heritage protection.
