Uzbek communications services revenue up 50% on year in Jan-Sep

Revenues from communications services in Uzbekistan rose 50% on the year to 624.4 billion som in January-September, Uzbek national fixed-line operator Uzbektelecom said Tuesday.

The number of cell phone users more than doubled over the past year to 4.52 million as of October 1 from 2.068 million a year ago, the company said.

The number of Internet users rose 35.7% on the year to 1.9 million as of 1 October.
