Uzbekistan Energy Sector Appoints New Top Executives
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Major managerial changes have been implemented across the leadership structures of Uzbekistan’s primary state-owned energy corporations, shifting internal veterans into key executive roles.
The structural reorganizations directly affect the top management tiers of the joint-stock companies tasked with operating the country’s high-voltage power grids and managing its centralized electricity procurement and sales.
According to official corporate disclosures on June 12, the new executive appointments include:
Boburjon Murodov has been appointed to the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Board at JSC "National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan." Prior to this promotion, Murodov served internally as the Head of the Strategic Development Department for Electrical Networks.
Sukhrobjon Maksudov has been named the new Deputy Chairman of the Board for Commercial Affairs at JSC "Uzenergosotish." He shifts into the executive suite from his previous role within the company as the Head of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project Management Department.
"The appointments represent a strategic focus on elevating internal infrastructure experts to oversee the ongoing modernization of our domestic transmission assets and public-private commercial structures," industry analysts noted following the announcement.
The leadership transitions come at a critical time as Uzbekistan continues to aggressively reform its unbundled power sector, relying heavily on its National Grid infrastructure and the centralized commercial capabilities of Uzenergosotish to integrate massive waves of incoming solar and wind generation.
