US familiarizes with experience of civil society development in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A conference titled “Modern mahalla and its role in building civil society in Uzbekistan” was held in New York, the United States.

Jahon news agency reported that the event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the US and the Uzbek-US department of the Society of Friendship of Uzbekistan with Foreign Countries and the Congress of Bukharian Jews of the United States and Canada.

President of Bukharian Jews of the United States and Canada B.Kandov underlined that mahalla is a unique institute, which plays key role in public life of Uzbekistan. He said that good neighborhood and mutual respect, kindness and mercy are important peculiarities of the institute.

At the event, information on reforms of Uzbekistan on construction of democratic reforms in the civil society was presented.
