Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Uzbek national on an international wanted list on fraud charges has been extradited from Türkiye to Uzbekistan, law enforcement agencies reported.

The wanted individual, identified by the initials A.A., is accused of committing a crime under Article 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. He had been hiding from investigators in Türkiye, where he was located and detained about a year and a half after an international wanted notice was issued.

Following the completion of required procedures, the suspect was handed over to Uzbek authorities.

The extradited individual has been transferred to competent authorities for further investigative procedures and judicial proceedings.

Law enforcement agencies noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in combating crime, international search efforts, and the extradition of fugitives is conducted on an ongoing basis.
