Turkic States Advance Transport Digitalization in Bishkek
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 14th meeting of the Working Group on Transport Development of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Bishkek on 22 April.
The agenda included a range of issues related to the digitalization of the transport sector and the simplification of transit procedures between participating countries.
Participants placed particular emphasis on the implementation of electronic systems such as e-CMR and e-Permit, as well as discussions on their future application and expanded functionality within intergovernmental cooperation frameworks.
Special attention was given to measures aimed at facilitating transit freight transportation along the Trans-Caspian “Middle Corridor,” which is considered strategically important for regional logistics routes.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the development of ferry routes across the Caspian Sea, transport reforms proposed by Türkiye, and the entry into force of the Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport within the OTS, signed on 11 November 2022 in Samarkand.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants approved the draft agenda for the ninth meeting of transport ministers of the Organization of Turkic States.
