Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Students at technical colleges in Uzbekistan will be able to participate in the international Work and Travel programme starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 604 dated 31 October 2026.

The new provision applies to students enrolled in secondary and specialised secondary vocational education programmes. Participants will also be eligible for loans to cover expenses related to travelling abroad, including transport and other costs.

Work and Travel opportunities will be available for trips to European Union countries, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The resolution also provides for the expansion of the EMIS RT vocational education management information system. The system will contain details about technical colleges, including their names, addresses and codes, as well as information on professions and specialisations, modes and stages of study, student status and academic performance.

In addition, the Migration Agency will take steps each year by 1 March to conclude agreements with foreign employers.

These agreements are intended to organise the participation of technical college students in work and travel programmes abroad.
