Uzbekistan and CISAC Discuss Copyright Protection

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Justice M. Ikramov held a meeting with Mitko Chatalbashev, Regional Director for Europe at the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) and BIEM.

The parties discussed ways to improve the system for protecting copyright and related rights, develop collective rights management mechanisms and safeguard the legitimate interests of creative professionals.

Following the talks, they emphasised the need to improve the effectiveness of protecting authors' rights and those of other rights holders, introduce international standards in this field and further strengthen cooperation.
