Toshshakhartranskhizmat explains bus driving in oncoming lane

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — JSC Toshshakhartranskhizmat has published an official statement regarding a King Long bus driving along an oncoming traffic lane, an incident that took place on 9 July 2026 in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent.

According to the company, a driver identified as Kh.Zh., born in 1965, from the "8th Bus Park" branch was operating the King Long bus with the state registration number 01 581 MKA on route No. 115. While passing the intersection of the Tashkent Ring Road and Bogishamol Street, a traffic accident involving passenger cars occurred at the beginning of Bogishamol Street.

Toshshakhartranskhizmat explained that the bus was already at the intersection when the accident occurred. Due to the vehicle's 18-meter length, its rear section blocked traffic for other road users.

According to the statement, the driver was forced to move along the oncoming traffic lane for approximately 100 meters to clear the intersection, after which the bus returned to its route and continued in the designated direction.

The company also reported that on 10 July 2026, the management of the "8th Bus Park" branch, together with officers from the Traffic Safety Department of the Tashkent Main City Police Department, conducted a review of the incident with all bus drivers before they went out on their lines.

During the event, an additional briefing on the strict observance of Traffic Rules was organized, and preventive explanatory work was conducted.
