Uzbekistan and Israel to expand employment cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Israel plan to expand cooperation on organized employment for Uzbek citizens in Israel and improve recruitment mechanisms, Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency said.

Migration Agency head Bekhzod Musaev met with Israel’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Gideon Lustig to discuss the issue, the agency’s press service reported.

The sides paid particular attention to improving the candidate selection process and reducing costs associated with the employment of Uzbek citizens in Israel.

The Israeli side positively assessed the work of Uzbek citizens in the construction and care sectors. At the same time, opportunities were identified to expand cooperation in agriculture, healthcare and technical occupations.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to organize a visit to Uzbekistan by the head of Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA). The visit is expected to be one of the steps toward further developing cooperation in labor migration.
