Third Hyundai Rotem High-Speed Train Delivered to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The third South Korean-made Hyundai Rotem high-speed passenger electric train has been delivered to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Transport announced.

The transportation of the trainset was carried out by Temiryulkargo, a subsidiary structure of JSC Uzbekistan Railways. The train was delivered via the South Korea–China–Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan multimodal transport corridor, utilizing maritime, road, and rail transport integrated into a single logistics chain.

The ministry noted that Temiryulkargo acted as the international logistics operator for the project and organized the transport on a door-to-door basis, from the manufacturing plant to the final destination in Uzbekistan.

The deliveries of the new trains are being carried out under a contract between Uzbekistan Railways and the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem.

The first batch of high-speed trains was dispatched to the republic in December 2025. The ceremonial departure of the first trainset, named "Jaloliddin Manguberdi," took place at the port of Masan in the city of Changwon.

In total, the national railway operator will receive six Hyundai Rotem high-speed trains.

On 5 May, Uzbekistan Railways launched the first Hyundai Rotem train, "Jaloliddin Manguberdi," into service on the Tashkent–Khiva route.

The trainset is capable of reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h, which has reduced travel time by almost half, down to 7.5 hours.

The train operates three times a week with stops in Samarkand, Bukhara, and Urgench, and is designed to carry 389 passengers.
