Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Around 200 business representatives from Ferghana and Minsk regions took part in a business forum and bilateral B2B negotiations in Minsk, resulting in the signing of nearly 20 cooperation agreements and memorandums.

Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov attended the event, which was organised by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

Held under the theme “Minsk and Ferghana Regions: A Strategy for Joint Growth,” the forum opened with remarks by Ferghana Region Deputy Governor Islom Madaminov and Alexander Logvin, Head of Administration of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee. They highlighted the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus and the expansion of practical ties between their regions.

Participants received presentations on Belarus’s business environment, the economic and industrial potential of Ferghana Region, and the conditions and incentives available to foreign investors.

Entrepreneurs discussed opportunities to implement joint projects in Ferghana Region’s free economic zones and small industrial zones. Potential areas of cooperation included industrial collaboration, automotive manufacturing, textiles and light industry, agriculture and food production.

The forum also featured direct negotiations between business representatives from the two countries.

The agreements and memorandums provide for expanding exports from Ferghana Region, attracting Belarusian technology and investment, and developing mutual supplies.
