Tashkent Zoo receives lion Alex from Kaliningrad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent Zoo received one-year old lion Alex within the exchange of animals with the Zoo in Kaliningrad (Russia).

Lion Alex was sent from Kaliningrad to Tashkent on Sunday and on the same day it arrived in Uzbekistan. The lion will be in quarantine for a month and afterwards it will join its new family.

Evgeniy Kozlovskiy, head zoologist of Kaliningrad Zoo, said that it is spread practice to exchange animals. He said that the animals are exchanged to increase number of zoo collection and animal breeding.
