Tashkent Region to Study Serbia’s Raspberry-Growing Experience

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —Jakhongir Mamajonov, deputy hokim of Tashkent Region, held talks with representatives of FLORIVA BERRY in the Serbian city of Ivanjica. The sides discussed the possibility of establishing modern raspberry plantations in the region, introducing advanced agricultural technologies and developing cooperation in berry production and processing.

Representatives of the Serbian company presented FLORIVA BERRY’s more than 50 years of experience in raspberry cultivation.

The company produces certified planting material that has undergone laboratory testing and is free of viruses, designed for professional plantations.

In addition to supplying planting material, the company provides consulting services on organizing the full production cycle, from establishing plantations to growing the crop.

During the meeting, FLORIVA BERRY presented raspberry varieties being considered for industrial production and entry into new markets, including Willamette and Enrosadira.

The company also presented blackberry seedlings of the Loch Ness, Ponca, Black Satin, Triple Crown, Chester, Dana and Black Gem varieties.

According to the company, FLORIVA BERRY has tested raspberry varieties under various climatic conditions and has practical experience growing the crop in CIS countries. The company also works with professional producers, investors and wholesale buyers.

The sides discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in Tashkent Region. The areas under consideration include establishing modern raspberry plantations, introducing high-yielding varieties, deep processing of harvested produce and manufacturing export-oriented products.

Following the talks, the sides identified further practical measures to develop cooperation, assess available opportunities and implement promising projects in berry cultivation and processing.
