Tashkent Explains Delays on Bus Routes 154, 184
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Main Department of Transport of Tashkent has provided clarification regarding the operation of bus routes No. 154 (“Bobur mahalla” – “Zangiota Infectious Diseases Hospital”) and No. 184 (“Food City” – “Obihaet Street”) following public complaints on social media about long intervals and insufficient passenger capacity.
According to the approved schedule, five buses are assigned to route No. 154, while nine SAZ LE 60 Isuzu buses operate on route No. 184, with an average interval of around 20 minutes.
However, on 16 April, one bus on each route failed to enter service due to technical malfunctions, which led to increased intervals, particularly during peak hours.
The department stated that operational measures are currently being taken to restore the vehicles and normalize the service schedule.
It was also reported that, given the growing passenger demand from the “Sokin Makon” residential complex and surrounding areas, plans are in place for 2026 to increase the number of buses on these routes through the procurement of new rolling stock and to reduce service intervals.
Authorities issued an apology to passengers for the temporary inconvenience caused by technical issues on the part of the operator.
