Saida Mirziyoyeva Calls for Kindness Toward Animals in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva called on parents to instill a respectful attitude toward animals in children from an early age and reminded the public of toughened penalties for animal cruelty.

She noted that legislative amendments came into force in the country on 28 June, under which administrative fines for animal cruelty were doubled.

Furthermore, administrative arrest for up to 15 days can be imposed for such violations, while repeat offenses carry criminal liability, including imprisonment.

According to Mirziyoyeva, the legislative changes aim not only to punish offenders, but also to reinforce values that society considers mandatory.

"The safety of our society directly depends on zero tolerance for violence. Toughening the punishment for animal abuse helps form an environment where respect for any life is an absolute norm," she emphasized.

The head of the Presidential Administration also stated that respect for another's life begins in the family. According to her, parents must teach children not to hurt the weak and to understand that true strength is never expressed through cruelty.

Saida Mirziyoyeva accompanied her address with a video featuring the furry "employees" of the Presidential Administration, Yalpiz and Darkhan.
