Mirziyoyev and Matviyenko Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

At the beginning of the conversation, Valentina Matviyenko congratulated the Uzbek leader on his birthday, wishing him good health, well-being and further success in his state activities.

During the talks, the sides expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, which contributes to strengthening Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and allied cooperation.

Special attention was paid to further developing interparliamentary cooperation.

The sides emphasized the importance of continuing parliamentary oversight over the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as promoting joint projects and programmes in the areas of industrial cooperation, education and culture.
