Uzbekistan Commissions 195 Infrastructure Projects in H1

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan commissioned 195 social and industrial infrastructure facilities in the first half of 2026 under the Social and Industrial Infrastructure Development Program for 2026–2028, the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported.

A total of 23.9 trillion soums has been allocated from the budget system for the implementation of the program in 2026. The funding is directed toward the construction, reconstruction, and modernization of social and industrial infrastructure facilities across all regions of the country.

Construction, reconstruction, and major overhaul work is currently underway on 2,000 objects. During the first six months of the year, 1.324 trillion soums was allocated for survey and design work, debt settlement, and other expenses, accounting for 40.3% of the annual funding limit. The volume of completed construction and installation work reached 12.369 trillion soums.

During the reporting period, the construction of education, healthcare, utility, transport, and water management infrastructure facilities was completed.

In the education sector, new schools, preschools, and higher educational institutions were put into operation, creating 6,722 school places and 1,940 kindergarten spots.

In the healthcare system, new medical institutions were opened with a capacity of 465 outpatient visits per shift and 696 inpatient beds.

In the utility sector, 61.5 kilometers of drinking water supply and sewerage networks were commissioned, alongside 65.9 kilometers of heating networks and new engineering facilities.

In the transport industry, the construction of new roads and road infrastructure was completed. In the water management sector, 435.8 kilometers of canals and 80.1 kilometers of drainage collectors were brought into service.

In addition, construction was finished on external infrastructure facilities for special and small industrial zones, coastal protection structures, administrative buildings, defense and law enforcement facilities, and tourism infrastructure.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance noted that the implementation of the program is aimed at improving the population's access to modern infrastructure, strengthening the economic potential of the regions, and creating new jobs. The ministry continues to monitor the timing and quality of project execution, as well as the efficient use of budget funds.
