Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov attended the opening ceremony of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), which is taking place in Shanghai.
The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, participated in the opening ceremony. In his speech, he focused on the development of artificial intelligence, its safe and responsible application, and the expansion of international cooperation in this field.
The WAIC 2026 program includes more than 140 forums, panel sessions, and thematic discussions dedicated to artificial intelligence, the digital economy, innovation, and global AI governance.
Over 1,400 experts and industry representatives from various countries, along with more than 1,100 companies, are participating in the conference.
More than 300 new technological products and solutions are being presented for the first time at the forum.
WAIC participants are discussing the development of international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, the exchange of best practices, the implementation of AI technologies across various economic sectors, and the improvement of global regulation and governance mechanisms in this area.
