Shavkat Mirziyoyev Visits AI Laboratory in Namangan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Namangan State Technical University during his trip to the Namangan Region, where he reviewed the capabilities of a new artificial intelligence research laboratory.
The center was established under the state strategy for regional digitalization, modernization of public administration, and systemic implementation of end-to-end IT technologies in key sectors of the economy.
The infrastructure of the laboratory is designed to ensure a continuous cycle of training and commercialization of developments. The structure of the complex includes specialized centers for deep data analysis, robotics, and bionics, an in-house start-up accelerator, two multimedia AI laboratories, and nine interactive smart classrooms.
The core activity of the center focuses on creating and integrating innovative scientific and practical platforms in the fields of environmental monitoring, agricultural technologies, smart transport, and automated production systems. According to specialists, the deployed base will significantly increase the academic potential of the faculty and provide students with skills to manage real IT projects.
During the inspection, the head of state was presented with a package of promising start-up solutions developed by staff advisors on artificial intelligence, which had previously been integrated into the management structure of regional, city, and district khokimyats in the region.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an open dialogue with young researchers and IT entrepreneurs, listening to their initiatives on optimizing the urban environment. The head of state pointed out the need to quickly scale this academic experience and instructed relevant agencies to more actively involve the scientific potential of young people in the processes of modernizing the basic sectors of the national economy.
