Shavkat Mirziyoyev to attend SCO summit in Bishkek
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Bishkek on 31 August–1 September for a working visit to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the SCO Plus meeting, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
The visit will take place at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. The summit will focus on further developing multifaceted cooperation within the SCO and improving the organization’s activities.
The heads of state will also discuss current issues of international and regional cooperation.
The Bishkek Declaration of the SCO’s 25th anniversary is expected to be adopted following the meeting, along with a package of documents aimed at expanding partnership in various areas.
The documents will cover security, the economy, transport, the environment, artificial intelligence and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
During his stay in Bishkek, Mirziyoyev will hold a number of bilateral meetings with heads of foreign delegations on the sidelines of the summit.
The Uzbek president will also attend the opening ceremony of the sixth World Nomad Games.
