Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan national team defender Bekhruz Karimov made his debut for Swiss club Lugano in the fifth round of the Swiss Super League. Lugano defeated Sion 2-1 away from home.
Lugano took the lead in the third minute through Derek Moncada. After the break, the hosts levelled the score when Winsley Boteli found the net in the 55th minute.
Beckham Castro restored Lugano’s lead in the 79th minute, scoring the goal that secured the visitors’ victory.
Karimov came on in the 74th minute as a substitute. In stoppage time, in the 90th minute of the match, the Uzbekistan defender was shown a yellow card.
At the time of publication, Lugano are top of the Swiss Super League standings with 12 points from four matches.
