Senators approve law “On operative-search activity”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved a law “On operative-search activity” at its tenth plenary session on 5 December 2012.

Senators noted that the law is directed at creating legislative and legal framework of operative-search activity of law enforcement bodies, real legal guarantees of adhering to law, protecting human rights and freedoms at operative-search activity.

Members of the upper house of parliament said that the law will allow to systematize existing norms, regulating operative-search activity in Uzbekistan. It will also raise quality of inquest and preliminary investigation, as well as support democratization of judicial-legal system and liberalization of law enforcement bodies’ activities.
