Russia, Uzbekistan to consider JV to manufacture rolling stock

"We will shortly consider setting up an enterprise on Uzbekistan’s territory, a joint venture to manufacture railway cars in the interests of both Uzbekistan and Russia," he said after the meeting of the intergovernmental commission.

"There is a shortage of railway cars in Uzbekistan and in Russia, first of all of freight cars," Ivanov said. He said the primary aim of the production would be meeting the domestic needs with export being a secondary aim.
