Prices for electricity hikes in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock company Uzbekenergo announced on 18 March that prices for electricity will grow from 1 April 2014.

According to Uzbekenergo, new prices for electricity were approved by the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekenergo said that the cost for 1 KWH electricity will grow from 120 soums to 131.4 soums. The growth rate makes up 9.5%.

The cost of for 1 KWH electricity at houses, equipped with electric ovens, will increase from 60 soums to 65.7 soums (+9.5%).

Last time, Uzbekistan increased prices for electricity on 1 October 2013.
