Presidents of Uzbekistan and South Korea discuss ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The official welcoming ceremony of the President of South Korea Lee Myung-Bak, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit, was held at the Durmen residence.

Accompanied by President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, Lee Myung-Bak passed the honorary guard. The state anthems of the two states were performed, UzA reported.

Islam Karimov and Lee Myung-Bak then started their face-to-face talk. The presidents are expected to consider the issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Korean relations, as well as problems of regional and international importance.

Signing of a number of documents aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries is planned during the visit.
