Presidential election of Uzbekistan were open and competitive

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Elections of the President of Uzbekistan, which were held on 4 December 2016, were open, transparent and competitive, the head of mission of the observers from CIS and chairperson of the Executive Committee of the CIS Sergey Lebedev said.

He said that the CIS observers visited over 700 polling stations across Uzbekistan.

Lebedev underlined that the elections of the President of Uzbekistan were held in high level.

He said that the elections were held in line with the legislation of Uzbekistan and commonly accepted international norms. The elections were open, transparent and competitive. Elections showed level of political maturity of civil society, he added.
