Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 April, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of World Aquatics and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Husain Al-Musallam, and the First Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the meeting, the sides discussed key issues related to expanding cooperation in the field of sports, supporting the Olympic movement, and creating favorable conditions for the development of both professional and grassroots sports in Uzbekistan.

Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed greetings and best wishes to President Mirziyoyev from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The parties noted the high level of practical cooperation with international sports organizations and emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with World Aquatics. Discussions included training programs for specialists and the development of modern infrastructure for aquatic sports in Uzbekistan.

They also explored the possibility of hosting major international competitions, as well as meetings of the Olympic Council of Asia Assembly and events of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Uzbekistan.
