President approves agreement on mutual travels of citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- From 16 March 2018, citizens of Tajikistan can stay on the territory of Uzbekistan without visas for up to 30 days with valid travel documents.

On 14 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the intergovernmental agreement on mutual travels of citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The document was signed on 9 March during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan.

The agreement will come into force temporarily in respect of citizens of Tajikistan, entering, leaving, following transit and staying in Uzbekistan from 16 March 2018 till the document comes into force.

This decision was made to create favorable conditions for the population of the two countries on the eve of the celebration of Navruz.

From 16 March 2018, citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan can stay on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan without visas (up to 30 days) with valid travel documents (diplomatic, official and general foreign passport), the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The date of entry into force of the agreement and its application in relation to citizens of Uzbekistan for visiting Tajikistan will be reported additionally, the Foreign Ministry said.
