Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 May 2022, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan Tilo Klinner.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as the prospects for the development of Uzbek-German relations in the Afghan direction.

Klinner highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, and provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

The parties also discussed ongoing transport and communication projects in Afghanistan, in particular, the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway line.
