Number of mobile subscribers in Uzbekistan exceeds 21.4m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of mobile subscribers in Uzbekistan made up over 21.4 million, acting head of the telecommunication department of the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Usmanov said.

He said that number of subscribers rose by 3 million people in last two years.

According to Usmanov, currently there are 18,100 base stations in Uzbekistan.

Currently, Beeline (GSM), Ucell (GSM), UMS (GSM), Uzmobile (GSM and CDMA) and Perfectum Mobile (CDMA) are providing mobile services in Uzbekistan.
