Newly-appointed British Ambassador arrives in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland George Edgar was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 4 September 2012.

The Ambassador handed copies of his credentials, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The parties discussed the state of Uzbek-British relations, prospective directions of interaction, exchanged views on regional and international problems during the meeting.

A common interest in developing mutually beneficial cooperation in politics and security affairs, deepening ties in trade-economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian spheres was noted.
