New director of National Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan appointed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Honoured artist of Uzbekistan Mahmudjon Ismailov has been appointed as new director of National Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

At this post, he replaced Yakub Ahmedov, who headed the theatre for over 20 years. Yakub Ahmedov will stay at the theatre as actor.

During the event at the theatre, it was said that Yakub Ahmedov made a great contribution to construction of new building, formation of new creative team and their development as famous actors. Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan handed over diploma to Yakub Ahmedov due to his 75th birthday.

Mahmudjon Ismailov, in his turn, said that he will do his best to meet trust and ensure creative conditions in the collective.
