Namangan and Koszalin expand interregional cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Interregional cooperation is being developed between Uzbekistan’s Namangan region and the Polish city of Koszalin. A working delegation led by Mayor Tomasz Sobieraj and Deputy Mayor Beata Górecka visited the region.
Located in northwestern Poland near the Baltic Sea, Koszalin is an important industrial, educational, and tourism center. Its key sectors include woodworking, furniture production, food processing, and mechanical engineering.
The delegation was received by the Governor of Namangan region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov. During the meeting, the sides exchanged information on the socio-economic potential of their respective regions and discussed prospects for cooperation.
Guests were presented with a video about the annual “Flowers” international festival held in Namangan.
It was noted that tourists, including visitors from Poland, are expected to attend the upcoming 65th anniversary edition of the festival.
Representatives of Koszalin expressed interest in developing cooperation in industry and tourism. Special attention was given to Chust district, known as a center of traditional crafts.
According to Tomasz Sobieraj, the delegation has already become familiar with the activities of several enterprises and is considering expanding cooperation. In particular, plans include organizing reciprocal business missions involving small and medium-sized enterprises. Priority areas include metallurgy, glass production, grain processing, and healthcare.
The delegation is continuing its visit in Chust district, where it is studying the local economic potential. Following the visit, both sides plan to consider establishing sister-city relations and further expanding partnership ties.
