Mirziyoyev Visits New Social Protection Complex in Nurafshan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the new Social Protection Complex of the National Agency for Social Protection in Nurafshan during his trip to the Tashkent Region.

The complex, established for the first time in the Tashkent Region, operates on a one-stop-shop principle and is designed to provide integrated social services to the most vulnerable groups of the population. It includes the Tashkent Regional Department of the National Agency for Social Protection, the regional social inspectorate, the Inson Social Services Center of Nurafshan, the medical and social assessment commission, and the regional social services center.

The complex is expected to provide services to around 10,000 residents of Nurafshan and the Urtachirchik, Pskent, Akkurgan and Bukin districts each year. Around 100 employees will work at the facility, providing assistance to people in need of social protection and supporting their social adaptation.

The regional social services center provides five types of social services with broad involvement from the non-governmental sector. According to the presentation, this approach will expand support for people with disabilities, individuals requiring permanent care, and children with disabilities, while promoting their integration into society.

The president was also presented with a method for assessing people with disabilities using artificial intelligence technologies, as well as new mechanisms for organizing the work of social workers in mahallas based on the experience of the Tashkent Region.

During the visit, Mirziyoyev said that supporting vulnerable groups, promoting their social adaptation and helping them maintain a positive outlook remain among the government's priorities.

The president then met with the Inson volunteer team of the National Agency for Social Protection in the Tashkent Region and reviewed their projects. After endorsing the work of the complex, he instructed officials to triple the number of similar regional social service centers across the country.

According to the presentation, the number of regional social service centers is planned to increase to at least 90 in the future. New facilities are expected to be established in districts with large populations in need of social protection and in locations with convenient transport access.
