Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of the Kegeyli Baraka Naslli Parranda enterprise on 18 September during his trip to Karakalpakstan, the presidential press service said.
The modern poultry complex, worth US$7.8 million, provides jobs and produces goods both for the domestic market and for export.
The complex was created in accordance with a presidential decree of 28 June 2024 aimed at supporting the development of poultry farming. The enterprise occupies 21 hectares, and 70 local residents gained permanent work after it was launched.
The complex's production capacity allows it to keep up to 200,000 chickens at a time. At present, 130,000 birds are being raised at the enterprise.
It produces 27.5 million incubation eggs a year. These are subsequently used to produce chickens and day-old chicks.
The enterprise also generates budget revenues amounting to 4.8 billion soums. It was noted that the creation of a modern poultry complex in Kegeyli helps not only to reduce production costs but also to strengthen the region's food security.
To provide the birds with its own feed, a feed production plant with a capacity of 100 tonnes per day has been created on the complex's territory. All production processes at the enterprise are fully automated.
Previously, chicken meat and eggs for Karakalpakstan were supplied from other regions of the country. Now the complex meets the Aral region's needs for these products and simultaneously exports them.
By September of this year, the enterprise had exported US$1.1 million worth of products to Afghanistan. By the end of the year, the volume of export supplies is planned to be increased to US$1.5 million.
In addition, the launch of another poultry factory with an area of 8.5 hectares is planned before the end of 2026. The new project will cost US$5 million. Its implementation will make it possible to create additional jobs and increase production volumes.
The president noted the need for the further development of such enterprises.
According to him, in the future such complexes should turn into large poultry holdings providing new and well-paid jobs. The relevant officials have been given appropriate instructions.
