Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Akihiko Tanaka, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in Tokyo on 18 September.

The sides discussed the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of practical cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

One of the main topics of the talks was accelerating the implementation of projects envisaged under the Uzbekistan-JICA Cooperation Program through 2030.

Saidov and Tanaka also exchanged views on further developing cooperation in healthcare. Particular attention was paid to supporting the private sector and cooperation in education.

Following the meeting, the Uzbek side expressed readiness to expand practical cooperation with JICA through new projects and initiatives.
