Lokomotiv loses to Al Ain in ACL quarterfinals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Brazilian Caio scored the only goal of the game as Al Ain survived a second-half Lokomotiv fightback to book their place in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League for the second time in three seasons on Tuesday evening.
The 1-0 win was enough to take Zlatko Dalic’s side into the last four, where they will face either Qatar’s El Jaish or compatriots Al Nasr for a place in the final as the club from the United Arab Emirates continue their quest for a second continental title.
Caio struck seven minutes before the end of the first half, giving Al Ain the advantage after the first leg had been drawn 0-0 in the UAE and forcing Lokomotiv to throw caution to the wind as the Uzbek champions needed to score twice to stay alive in the competition.
