Kazakh parliament to consider ratification of strategic partnership treaty with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan started a work on consideration of a draft law on ratification an agreement on strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The agreement improves legal framework between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and gave new level to the Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation in politics, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

Within the agreement, the sides will render joint support and mutual aid in preventing threats to their independence, sovereignity, territorial integrity, the chairperson of the Committee on international affairs, defense and security of Majilis Maulen Ahimbaev said at the session of the Kazakh parliament.

The document was signed in Tashkent within an official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev to Uzbekistan on 13-14 June 2013.
