Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region has paid a working visit to Belarus, outlining key areas for long-term strategic cooperation, the Dunyo news agency reported.

During the visit, representatives of the region familiarized themselves with livestock complexes and retail facilities across several districts of the Vitebsk region, including Braslav, Shumilino, and Postavy. Particular attention was given to the organization of agricultural production and trade infrastructure.

In talks with the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the sides discussed expanding economic cooperation and establishing mutually beneficial production chains between the regions of the two countries.

One of the key outcomes of the visit was an agreement between Uzbek enterprises Asl Yuksalish Savdo and Muborak Qorako‘lchilik and the Sirotinsky livestock farm located in the Shumilino district.

Under the agreement, the Uzbek side will lease 4,000 hectares of agricultural land on a long-term basis to implement a livestock development project. At the initial stage, the project предусматривает breeding of 1,000 head of cattle.

In parallel, a contract was signed between Asl Yuksalish Savdo and the Belarusian retail chain Dobronom.

The document provides for annual exports of up to 60,000 tons of agricultural products from Uzbekistan to Belarus, including dried fruits, legumes, melons, and grapes.

In addition to economic cooperation, the sides discussed the development of humanitarian ties. To strengthen tourism links, they plan to organize familiarization visits for representatives of the tourism industry from both countries.

Cultural cooperation was also addressed. Following a meeting with the head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, Yuri Senko, an agreement was reached to stage performances by the Kashkadarya Regional Theatre in Minsk ahead of an upcoming high-level visit.
