IDB allocates US$52.65m to Uzbek project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Board of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved financing of project in Uzbekistan. The project is part of IDB’s 2009 operational plan to finance various development projects.

IDB board approved US$52.65 million Istisna’a financing for the reconstruction of irrigation and drainage network in Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions in Uzbekistan.

Government of Uzbekistan adopted a programme on improvement of water supply in late spring, which envisages attraction of foreign resources and mobilization of own funds to improve water supply in various regions of the county.
