IDB allocates US$35.4m to Uzbek project

The Board of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), which concluded its 263rd session at IDB Headquarters in Jeddah, approved US$35.4 million new loan for development projects in Uzbekistan.
The bank said it issued US$ 35.4 million Istisna’a financing for the Tashkent Sewerage Project in Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan joined the IDB in 2003 and currently attracted about US$150 million of the IDB resources. In 2007-2009, Uzbekistan plans to attract US$160 million loan resources to projects in healthcare, education, power industries and private entrepreneurship.
