Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Deputy Chair of the Committee on Culture, Gunay Afandiyeva, has been awarded the honorary title and medal "Ambassador of Culture of Uzbekistan."
The award ceremony took place in Tashkent, where the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, presented the honor.
In his speech at the event, the Minister emphasized that, in line with the President’s directives, special attention is being paid to supporting initiatives aimed at developing and promoting Uzbek culture abroad. In this context, he highlighted Gunay Afandiyeva’s significant contributions to advancing Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage on the international stage.
In her response, Gunay Afandiyeva expressed sincere gratitude for the honor and the high recognition of her efforts.
She emphasized that strengthening cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has always been a priority for her and affirmed her continued commitment to promoting humanitarian cooperation between the two friendly nations.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current areas of cultural cooperation, including preparations for upcoming events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
Both parties expressed confidence that the strong cultural and historical ties between the peoples of the two countries would continue to grow, serving as a solid foundation for fruitful collaboration in the years ahead.
