GM Uzbekistan’s car output grows by 4.2% in Jan-Nov

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- GM Uzbekistan, a joint venture of General Motors (GM) and Uzavtosanoat, increased car production by 4.2% year-on-year in January-November 2009 to 184,572 units.

The venture produced 81,570 Nexia cars (down 6.5% year-on-year), 62,061 Matiz compact cars (down 2.5% y-o-y) and 21,280 Damas minivans (down 4.3 y-o-y).

The company produced 17,728 Lacetti cars in the reporting period. The venture did not produce in January–November 2008.

The Uzbek automaker manufactured 979 Epica cars (down 34% y-o-y) and 954 Captiva SUVs (down 33% y-o-y).
