Uzbekistan Discusses Expanding GULF Petrol Station Network

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Adiz Boboev, Governor (Khokim) of Samarkand region, met with Robert Wexler, a member of the board of directors of GULF, as part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the trade of petroleum products, the expansion of a network of modern petrol stations, and the implementation of investment projects in Samarkand region.

Particular attention was given to a project to establish a network of petrol stations under the GULF brand in Uzbekistan.

The first stage of the project, valued at US$250 million, already includes the privatisation of six petrol stations, most of which are located in Samarkand region.

By the end of this year, a further 32 petrol stations are planned to be privatised, modernised and brought up to international standards.

GULF is an international oil and gas brand founded in the United States. Its main areas of activity include the refining and sale of petroleum products, the production of motor and industrial oils, the supply of automotive chemicals, and the development of petrol station networks.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding investment cooperation and expressed their readiness to implement new joint projects.
