Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The global market for artificial intelligence-based voice assistants is showing steady growth momentum and is projected to reach $18.16 billion by 2030, according to an analytical report by The Business Research Company. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is expected to be 31.2%, Yandex Uzbekistan press service reported.
The study notes that the key driver of market expansion is the growing demand for intelligent, personalized and convenient voice-based interfaces.
Today, voice assistants are increasingly used not only for basic commands but also as fully functional digital assistants, ranging from device control and information retrieval to automation of daily tasks and interaction with digital services across sectors including e-commerce, healthcare, financial services, automotive industry and customer support.
Technologies such as natural language processing (NLP), speech recognition, conversational artificial intelligence and generative models are making a significant contribution to the development of the segment.
Their implementation allows assistants to more accurately interpret user requests, take into account conversational context, maintain more natural dialogue and improve the quality of responses.
According to The Business Research Company, key global market players include Yandex alongside major international technology corporations such as Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, Amazon, Alibaba, Huawei and Baidu.
Particular attention is being given to localized solutions. In September 2025, the Alice voice assistant integrated into smart devices received support for the Uzbek language.
The technology is based on a large language model developed by Yandex Uzbekistan with the participation of professional editors and linguists. System testing involved 300 users from 13 regions of Uzbekistan.
Today, Alice operates in both Uzbek and Russian, assisting users with a wide range of everyday tasks, from playing music and providing weather forecasts to controlling smart home devices, setting reminders, searching for information, explaining complex topics in an accessible form and generating ideas for study, work and creativity.
