Gas Explosion in Tashkent Region Kills Four
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Four people have died in a gas explosion in a residential house in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region, local authorities reported.
The incident occurred on 16 April in the “Urta Ovul” mahalla of Urtachirchik district.
Preliminary reports say the victims include a man born in 1996 and his three children. The explosion triggered a fire inside the house.
The victim’s wife and mother were hospitalized in serious condition.
Witnesses said a loud blast was heard at the time of the incident, after which residents of nearby houses rushed outside.
According to neighbors, the man attempted to save his family members. He reportedly managed to bring his wife and mother out of the house but died while returning to rescue his children.
The exact cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. Relevant emergency and investigative services are working at the scene.
