French fashion designer Paco Rabanne dies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- French fashion designer Paco Rabanne has died at the age of 88, according to Paco Rabanne fashion house.

"Paco Rabanne wishes to honor the memory of our visionary designer and founder, who passed away today at the age of 88," the house's website said in a statement Friday. The cause of death is not named.

Paco Rabanne was born on 18 February 1934 in the Basque Country. He became famous around the world in the 1960s. The master presented his first collection in 1966 in Paris. Clothing was made from alternative materials: plastic, paper, and metal. His outfits were worn by movie stars, including Audrey Hepburn and Jane Fonda.
