Foreign digital services nearly double tax payments in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid 143.8 billion soums in taxes in the first half of 2026, an increase of 84% compared with the same period last year, the Tax Committee said.

According to the committee, the value of electronic services provided between January and June reached 1.2 trillion soums, up nearly 83% from 656.8 billion soums in the first half of 2025.

The number of foreign providers of electronic services registered as taxpayers in Uzbekistan increased from 72 to 97 over the past year.

The largest taxpayers were Apple, which paid 33.6 billion soums, followed by Google with 33.3 billion soums, Meta with 29.9 billion soums, Valve Corp. with 15.8 billion soums, Anthropic with 6.3 billion soums, OpenAI with 5.6 billion soums, Midasbuy with 2.9 billion soums, Booking.com with 2.6 billion soums, TikTok with 1.6 billion soums and Anysphere with 1.5 billion soums.

The composition of the top 10 taxpayers changed from a year earlier. Valve Corp., Anthropic, Midasbuy and Anysphere entered the ranking, while Netflix, ACCA, Zoom and Adobe dropped out.

Among the companies that remained in the top 10, OpenAI recorded the largest increase in tax payments, rising from 2.9 billion soums to 5.6 billion soums. Google's tax payments increased from 19.4 billion soums to 33.3 billion soums, Apple's from 22.1 billion soums to 33.6 billion soums, and Meta's from 22.6 billion soums to 29.9 billion soums.

TikTok was the only company from last year's top 10 to record a decline in tax payments, with its contributions falling from 1.8 billion soums to 1.6 billion soums.

The Tax Committee reminded foreign legal entities providing electronic services in Uzbekistan that they are required to submit tax reports and pay taxes no later than the 20th day of the month following the end of each quarter.
