Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has established a procedure for conducting valuations during bank resolution, with requirements designed to ensure the objectivity and independence of the process.
The Central Bank Board’s resolution No. 22/9 dated 14 August 2026 was registered with the Ministry of Justice.
The resolution approves regulations governing the organisation and conduct of valuations during bank resolution, as well as requirements aimed at ensuring their objectivity and independence.
The regulations establish criteria for selecting and appointing valuation organisations, including requirements for their independence, qualifications and professional experience. They also provide mechanisms to prevent conflicts of interest during the valuation process.
The valuation must compare the value obtained through the resolution process with the value that shareholders and creditors could receive if the bank were subject to compulsory liquidation. The approach is intended to protect their interests.
The regulations also establish procedures for documenting valuation results, preparing the relevant report and publishing a summary of the report.
The new procedure is aimed at increasing the objectivity and transparency of valuations during bank resolution, ensuring the independence of the process and protecting the interests of shareholders and creditors.
